Hans Conrad Nave was born about 1713. He was the son of Ulich Näf . John Nave (1735, married Eve Lawrence), They immigrated to America from Switzerland and landed in Pennsylvania. In 1756, the family was in Augusta County, Virginia. They moved to Rowan County, North Carolina and settled on Cedar Creek, a branch of Alamance Creek. In 1767-68 Conrad was listed in the tax records for Rowan County, North Carolina, In 1774, Conrad (probably, Jr.) served in the Fincastle County Militia during Lord Dunmore's War. In 1778 John Nave was on the Washington County jury.
